Hi all, is there anyone using the MPCHC platform to control this media player?
I can see which file is being played, but I’m unable to see the state, it is always “idle”.
Any idea?
edit: maybe @abcminiuser could help

I just re-tested with the latest HomeAssistant (0.38.0) and MPC-HC - it can detect the name of the playing media as well as see/control the state just fine.
I normally use it with https://github.com/abcminiuser/mpc-hc-webui-proxy instead of using it directly to reduce the security risks involved with the in-build server, however.
What version of MPC-HC are you using? I’ve tested against, and use, the latest official release. That’s quite old now however, so perhaps something has changed in the recent development versions if that is what you are using.
Hello @abcminiuser, thanks for your reply!
I’m using the last mpc-hc stable version too (1.7.10) and I tried again with HA 0.38.1.
I still have the same problem: the state is always “idle”, I can see the title of what mpc-hc is playing and if I pause the video from mpc-hc I can play it from HA, but I cannot do the opposite (pause a video from HA).
The only difference from your config seems to be the web ui prox, I did’t really need it because I don’t access the media player from outside and even if would do so, I’d rather use a VPN. Anyway I will try it and I let you know!
Hurray! I found the problem!
I have to use mpc-hc in English in order to use your platform, I was using mpc-hc in my home language and that was issue.
Maybe you should add this info in the documentation.
