Hi,
My Home Assistant vm has been incredibly stable since I first built it in 2021, but I’ve seen memory spikes that have caused the vm to stop responding since upgrading to 2024.3.
Below is the memory usage since upgrading
and here is the memory usage pre-upgrade
I haven’t managed to login when the memory spikes have been happening so haven’t been able to check what’s using it.
Based on the graphs though, it looks like there’s a memory hungry job or process using it.
I’ll setup some more monitoring to record process usage, but is anyone else having this problem?
Are there any logs I should upload to help diagnose it?
My instance is a vm running on x86 using the Supervisor install.
My entire Home Assistant Green seems to have killed it self since the last update by writing the memory asunder so you’re not alone
I’ve been logging the output of docker stats and it’s the qemux86-64-homeassistant container. The memory usage increases from 930ish MB to 2.5GB, at which point the vm runs out of memory and stops responding.
I tried downgrading HA back to 2024.2.5 but the problem persisted.
I’ve now restored the entire vm back to early March, before I upgraded to 2024.3 at all, and will see if that helps. This had the effect of also downgrading some addons.
HA is stable again since restoring the whole vm from the snapshot.
There’s two upgrades available, the samba addon and HA itself. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when I install them.
