Mi Flora plant sensor + Flic conflicting

I recently got the Flic button to work but now the Mi Flora has stopped reporting.

sudo hcitool lescan
Set scan parameters failed: Input/output error

when I

service bluetooth restart

i can lescan again but then the flic button stops working. Then i restart HA and the flic button starts working again.

This is a common error - it wouldn’t be unusual to use that command 5 or 6 times before it works.

I believe it’s due to a scan being in progress from elsewhere in the system.

I would try the command for 5 mins or so before giving up.

As an alternative, I use a Pi Zero to connect to my Mi Flora sensors - this means my central Hass install doesn’t have to do any Bluetooth LE scanning. It might be useful for you:

I went a different route to solve this, and put hassbian on a Pi Zero. I didn’t run any special code versions, just checked that the MiFlora mac addresses were detected with sudo hcitool lescan Which they were without any extra settings on my part. I bought a second bluetooth adapter and assigned one for the flic and one for the miflora.
