Hi all
Looking for a creative automation. Is it possible for home assistant to read my Microsoft Teams status and change the colour of the LED strip so that my kids know I am in a meeting ?

You can get a Teams Status sensor from this integration in HACS - GitHub - RogerSelwyn/O365-HomeAssistant: Office 365 integration for Home Assistant
I’ve been using it for a good while now with only the occasional connection error. Means we also get our work calendars alongside home calendars on the kitchen wall display too.
I use A powershell script that looks as the teams processes. Then fire a command to home assistant to set a state or call a service via rest.
I just had a quick look at the o365 integration docs and it was talking about doing stuff on the azure portal. Not sure my company would allow that. So something running on my work laptop to locally look for team status is probably my limit
Thanks and how to set a particular colour to the LED STRIP
Here’s the first blog post I wrote on how to get it to change my LED strip: Microsoft Teams + Home Assistant + Graph = take your presence to the next level – Loryan Strant, Microsoft 365 MVP
(I’ve since updated it to also control my standing desk and other things)
Utilize the HASS.Agent client for your PC. Works based off your microphone/camera so all calls would be the same.
