Migrate from HA core in Docker to HA (i.e. hassio)

Hi,

I’m trying to migrate from a docker compose HA core instance with various integrations & ZHA (via a USB stick) to a VM hosting HA (i.e. hass.io).

Ignoring the issues around USB passthrough etc. Is there an easy way of doing this? I’ve managed to tarball my ha config folder and get it via a mounted usb stick into hassio however this doesn’t bring all the integrations with it and in particular ZHA hasn’t retained all the network and device settings. ZHA wasn’t configured when I did this on hassio so I configured it and got an empty Zigbee network.

Help please!

I just did this. I took a snapshot of my old installation (ubuntu bare metal). I was able to restore the snapshot successfully into a vm of ha operating system qcow2 under proxmox. Everything came back.

The old system is HA core running in a docker container. I don’t have an option to snapshot this

@agf102 Did you figure this out? I am planning a similar move although I use zigbee2mqtt instead of ZHA.

Yes and no. Not migrate as such but copy / paste. I copied what I could out of the various yaml files and used the code view in the dashboard to copy / paste that into a ui-lovelace.yaml file. I also moved from ZHA to zigbee2mqtt so needed to re-pair
