Migrate from RFLink to OMG (OpenMQTTGateway)

I’ve been trying to move away from RFLink because the current firmware version seems stuck in 2017.

I’ve bought an OMG gateway with RF, IR and BLE. I’ve got it running and can see loads of switches (including the ones I actively use) but can’t see any sensors in the list.

I understand I need to set up each device I want to use in the configuration.yaml but I can’t figure out which devices I should be using as OMG reports 475 devices, none of which are sensors (apart from the built in ones).

Are there any guides on how to identify devices without having to go through each on in turn. Are there any better forums to post my questions in?

With RFLink all the devices had proper names and you could see the sensor values in their entities, so it wasn’t too difficult to weed out which ones were needed, and which ones to ignore.

Anybody - could really do with a guide somewhere on how to find out how and where to add sensors, and HOW to pick out the handfull of switches I use or the 475 devices that were reported last time I added it.

Maybe I’ve been spoiled by RF link which gives you a proper name for EVERY device it discovers.
