Migrating from Pi to Ubuntu HassIO using snapshots

Hi

I have installed Hassio on Pi and been using it for the last 2 years. Now want to move over to a Ubuntu server as this runs on a VM and the host has a UPS. I installed Hassio using this guide https://bonani.tech/how-to-install-hass.io-on-ubuntu-server-18.04/.

Can I use the snapshot feature to migrate all my settings, addons etc from a Pi version to the Ubuntu version? Does this work?

As long as you aren’t using any Pi specific components (e.g. GPIO, cpu temp, etc…) you should be right to restore from the snapshot.
