I’m testing HA and really like what I have so far.
The only problem I ran into is that I made the naive mistake a few months ago to believe that “not much” would change when upgrading my nest account to Google Assistent.
Now I no longer have access to the CLIENT_ID and CLIENT_SECRET on the nest developers site, the only thing I still have is the API key stored in Domoticz.
Any chance of re-using that on HA? (I can write python if that helps) Or is that locked somehow onto the Domoticz installation?
Domoticz can still read the nest temperatures etc. but I don’t really like the idea of having to keep a seperate PI running just to read the Nest API.
I hope someone has some suggestions on the best way forward with this!
It won’t be locked to that product, but the underlying Python package doesn’t support the API key. You’d need to submit a PR to add support for the API key to the package, then another PR to add support to the API key to the integration.
