I’ve been using SmartThings for some years, and recently started moving to Home Assistant.
I’ve used the SmartThings integration, and everything has worked fine, except that I’m still dependent on a round trip to the internet to get the statuses into Home Assistant, so I’m trying to pair the devices directly to Home Assistant.
I have SmartThings Motion Sensors v1, which have connected perfectly. They show up as CentralLite 3325-S
I also have SmartThings Motion Sensors v2 , which connect. They show up as SmartThings motionv4. The temperature and battery level appear to be fine, but the motion sensor shows up as a simple binary switch, not a motion sensor. It does appear to be responding correctly, but is just sitting in the wrong domain.
How do I convince Home Assistant that it’s really a motion sensor?
Hi
I’m totally brand new to HA and I have a first gen Samsung smartthings sensor.
I’ve managed to get the sensor added via zigbee but I can’t seem to get it working.
It only says motion detected all the time and I’m a bit stumped.
Any pointers or steel by step instructions?
Many thanks
Old thread, but I’m digging up old hardware after moving over to HA.
My sts-irm-250 added just fine as-is under ZHA and I noticed the ‘iaszone’, but it Detected (motion) and Cleared (motion) just fine so all looked well. …except the motion continued to falsely detect and clear motion. I see the logs where this pattern continues through the night when the house is asleep. Naturally it will burn through a new battery in 2-3 days.
I tried the customization.yaml as @wimble mentioned, but no difference at all in experience. Anyone else have similar experiences with this old school motion detector?
