Migrating Zwave Setup to New (VM) Hardware

I have an existing HA OS install on a VM running on hardware today without issue. Combination of Zigbee, Zwave, Matter, and other devices. I am moving to new hardware and a new VM setup with HA OS. I have the new hardware up and running, including the new VM. After the initial setup/install on the new hardware/VM I restored from a full backup of my existing install.

I am using the HomeAssistant Z-Wave JS Integration

Overall everything restored beautifully and the new VM setup is up and running. I also moved over my dongles for both Zigbee and Zwave (HomeAssistant Sky Connect and ZOOZ ZST10 700 respectively) and HomeAssistant saw them right away and sucesfully started the integrations. Zigbee and Matter work fine, but while Zwave started the integration fine without error, the devices are not connected/responding. I spun back up the old VM/install and put the sticks back, and everything works fine there. My understanding is that there are keys in the ZOOZ stick and in the installation. It seems like everything came over in the restore, but maybe there is something else I have to do manually? I already tried a partial backup of JUST Zwave and manually restoring some of the files (jsonl, metadata, values), but there was another “data” section that had “Devices” files that I couldnt’ locate in my instance to replace.

Any ideas what is going on here or what I need to do? I am back on my old install right now while I try to figure this out. I’m hoping to avoid removing and re-adding all of my nearly 20 Zwave devices.

Zwave logs please. Without, we’re guessing.

Thanks! I think this is what you’re referring to.

What does “moving” entail exactly? Is everything in the same physical location, or did you actually move it to another part of your house? None of your nodes are responding anymore. If it’s a physical location change, rebuilding routes is in your future. Also make sure the new setup has a USB extension cable. https://zwave-js.github.io/node-zwave-js/#/troubleshooting/first-steps

The controller’s SDK version is v7.19.2, which is known to be bad, although it seems unlikely that is a factor here if you are having success in the old install. Unless it was just barely working before.

It is a new physical location in my house, but I have moved it to the same location as the old install and had no change. The setup (including Zwave) was working perfectly before, and it continues to work perfectly when I move back to the previous install and move my dongles back. I am already using a USB extension cable with the dongles.

I just kicked off a rebuild of routes to see if that picks things back up again.
