I am migrating from Synology Docker Core to Synology VM (2023.1.7).
After installing I can log in and out of both installations at will.
Currently, the old Docker version (no supervisor) has all my devices and automations set up. The VM supervised version (installed via.ova) has nothing set up.
In the core version, I created a backup and downloaded it to my desktop. I then stopped the docker container.
In the new supervised version, I uploaded the backup from my desktop and chose to restore it.
The import dialog indicated it was a partial backup with the strangely worded “Are you sure you want partially to restore this backup?” I assume the backup was “partial” because there was no supervisor on the docker version, but I am not certain about this.
The restore seemed to happen (no errors), but none of my devices, automations, etc. are there.
Any suggestions or ideas about how to get my old configuration moved over?
EDIT:
I solved this. When you pick the particular backup you want to restore, a box comes up with the details of the tar file and a button that says RESTORE. For some reason on that page there is a tick box and you have to select it even though there is only one tick box shown. I had failed to do this and that is why nothing happened. Once I ticked the box and THEN selected RESTORE, it worked. So, no problem now. Dialog box is a bit confusing, that’s all.
