Mikrotik router configuration for VLANs

Hi,

I bought few days ago Router MikroTik hAP ac3 (RBD53IG-5HACD2HND).
This is all in one device so I don’t have any additional devices like switch etc… MikroTik Routers and Wireless - Products: hAP ac³

I want to have 2 separated networks:

  1. main wifi (PC, phone)
  2. IoT wifi (wifi speaker etc)

I followed this tutorial and created vlan for IoT:

I want to run spotify from my phone (main wifi) and select wifi speaker by phone app but… the speaker is placed in IoT wifi so I can’t find it…
If I connect to IoT wifi by phone, then I can find and select speaker (because they are in the same wifi).

Is it possible to find speaker from main wifi by this router?
Maybe someone on this forum resolve this problem?

I have few days left to send it back to store so please let me know.

Mikrotik devices are highly advanced and have complex software to make changes. To be honest I would not recommend these devices unless you have a degree in network engineering.

I would have to agree with frits1980, this is an advance router that can pretty much do anything. What you want to do is possible, but the easier way to go about it would be to forget about the vlans and use 2 different network scopes i.e. 192.168.2.0/24 and 192.168.3.0/24 and these can be setup to talk to each other or just specific ips, and you can get into some really advance stuff like OSPF. Here are a couple of links that can help you on your journey:

Once you understand what is in the link above you can branch off from there, Good Luck
