I recently moved to the UK to this new built flat from NA, and trying to figure out the required components to integrate the AC and in-floor heating with Home Assistant. However, I am completely at a loss on figuring out how to do this properly - unlike in NA where you have more flexibility (from my point of view).
While I figured that for my in-floor heating I will need a separate hub (Heatmiser), I have no idea about the AC that I have. I can only see that I have a Mitsubishi PAR-33MAAG control panel, but the builders nor the management company want to provide information on the actual units themselves. I looked online and it seems that this unit is a dumb remote and there is a central controller that I do not have access to.
Has anyone been able to figure out if there is any way to control the AC by only tapping into the dumb remote itself with Home Assistant? Is anyone able to give me any pointers/hints into what I should be looking at?
Of course there is. But it would be much better to find out all the components you have there.
Ps. from NA might be obvious to you, but for others it might be…unknown.
No, unfortunately this remote only has two wires, and it does not have the same connector plug as the CN105 typically does. Guess I’m stuck until the builders provide additional information.
If it has two wires it is using the M-Net protocol.
But depending on the indoor unit this converts to CN105 at some point.
If this is the case, you can connect something like the product below to it. Then you can keep using your wall remote and also control your heatpump using Home Assistant since this module passes through any signal from the wall remote as well.
The units are actually built into the ceiling, so I am going to have to investigate if they’re accessible from the two trap doors that I have access to. I will look into it and hopefully I can add that ClimaControl unit, which would solve all my problems!
Thanks for the pointers!
Edit: Sorry I got super excited and looked already - I have a PEFY-P50VMS1-E unit, which I have managed to find the control board layout here. However, I do not see the CN105 connector here according to this board layout sadly. Do you know of any options that I may have?
