I’m appealing to the privacy-focused audience who are considering not having a iOS or Google Android phone (the shock!) - is there a client ‘agent’ that would still be able to send device stats and used in automations, etc?
Ubuntu Touch or KaiOS particularly interest me.
I assume the android app would install fine on a de-Google’d android phone (e/OS, Lineage, GrapheneOS, etc).
The 2 main mobile installs that are there now started and single author develoiper packages that were adopted by HA. I suggest you write your own or collect enough experts to write your own as a team. Show that it will work and become stable. This is open source, so if there are multiple integrations for toothbrushes, a good phome app will be welcomed with open arms.
The problem is installed base. You are talking about a 1% of the market segment or less, so, there’s that.
i don’t quite understand your response but i gather you’re telling me to go away and build it myself “as it’s open source”. sorry for bothering you. just trying to start a discussion.
