In the last few months, I’ve had to reset and reinstall my Android device three times (don’t ask; it’s a long story). In that time, I’ve re-installed the HA app three times, each time with a slightly different name, mostly because I forgot and because I remembered that the last time I did this, it appended a _2
to my mobile device name and got annoying to fix.
That all being said, it made me realize that a number of my automations have my mobile device hard coded as the notification destination. These had to be manually changed one by one. I am wondering if there is a way to store the device name somewhere like an input so that I only have to change it in one place.
Ideally, I’d love to see “notification schemes”, whereby certain set of devices would receive a notification when sent to a specific “channel”. For example, if the laundry vibration device triggers, it sends a notification to a “laundry” channel, which can then be configured to notify all devices in the system. If a specific motion detector goes off, only notify “security”, which only has specific devices.
If the latter exists, that would be even better.
Thanks!
