Hi,
I am an amatour and started to fiddle with some automation in my home.
I am trying to integrate my Fan coil unit with Home assistant.
I have installed Elfin-EW11 RS485 Wifi converter and plugged it to my fancoil.
my modbus.yaml looks like:
and in configuration.yaml is line: modbus: !include modbus.yaml
and modbus entitiy inside home assistant returns: unavaliable.
Can you help me understand what am I doing wrong? Any help would be great.
did you somehow succeded or understood what was wrong. I am looking at a similar table not same manufacturer but it seems same information, so I would like to understand if you have got to a solution.
thansk!
I managed to get communication I needed. For the settings in ew11 i changed port to 8899 and CLI to Serial string, +++, 300. These changes probably doesn’t mattered for my case. It turned out that my problem was a slave adress. On my device I changed default adress to something different. I chose address 16 following instructions from manual and also printed on electric box cover. Changed this with S4 dial. Arrow - 0, 1-down, 2-up.
Turns out that manual is misleading and when i choose this address 16 it is really then an adress 17. I changed my code in HA to slave 17 and type: rtuovertcp to type: tcp and everything works now. Hope it helps.
Hello,
I used waveshare wired rs485/tcp PoE but I would likely suppose that the wifi from waveshare works.
the Elfin that @sfortis has suggested is highly reccomended around the web so better go with that maybe.
I would go wired if it is a critical service as air conditioning, just my opinion.
