Modbus esphome over wifi to HA

Hello to all,

I am new to esphome integrations and looking for a way to connect my air recuperation device to Home Assistant over local internet network, but using RS485 connection.

Device: SaveAir VTR 150. It uses Modbus (RS485) for communication.

My idea:

  1. Use “MAX485 to TTL” for connecting recuperator to ESP32
  2. ESP32 connects to local wifi network
  3. Home assistant uses Modbus integration and connects to ESP32 to retrieve and send data to recuperator.

It it possible or I’m missing something ?
