does anyone have a solution for modbus to mqtt bidirectional bridge with a working example? I tried to use EvaICS addon. but failed to configure it correctly, being a beginner in Home Assistant.
Are there any other alternatives you guys are using? Any help would be appreciated.

You can try my mqmgateway. It is an external service, independent from HASS, but with compatible MQTT topics.
The easiest way to try it is a docker installation. Images for i386/amd64 or ARM architectures are available here.
