Moes 24G mmwave Human Presence Sensor ZigBee - Model: ZSS-LP-HP02

I recently purchased this Moes mmwave Human Presence Sensor ZigBee - Model: ZSS-LP-HP02 from AliExpress. There are several link to purchase and price keep going up and down:

  1. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005962280933.html
  2. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005932571226.html
  3. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005967284106.html

It is apparently real 24G mmwave sensor, unlike some others. I am still waiting for it, I have not received it. My question is, does anyone has purchased it and already have it/tried it? Does it work well on Home Assistant with ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT. I asked the manufacture about external converter for Z2M but they said they only support Tuya.

What is your opinion on it? Could that be a good false positive free sensor. I would like to get the opinion of more people about this hardware. Thank you.

I also managed to get the manual here as PDF if anyone wants to take a peek at it.

That looks exactly like the xiaomi linptech mmwave sensor, works only with bt though

You are correct. IT has the same housing but this Moes is Zigbee and the other are Bluetooth. MY guess is that they reused same housing but different chip maybe?

Definitely, please do update if it has some sort of exclusion zone features

Sure I will. I am hope if it does not work out of the box, someone can help me with external convereter for Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA quirk. I should have with within about 2 weeks.

it may work in z2m straight out

I think you are correct. I just received this one and it needed external converter to work, but yesterday there was update for Zigbee2MQTT and it was included inside: IT is already working fine for me.

You may be correct. But this square one here is 5.8G and the Moes is supposed to be 24G which means they should have different chip (hopefully better) but if it works out of the box will be awesome!

the one I posted is 24G

Unfortunately it is not. It was fake advertisement. The one you posted it said it is 24G, but in actuallity is 5.8G with different housing but same chip as the square on I posted above - ZG-205Z.

I got this information from the manufacturer itself, they admitted it. There were intensions to be 24G but the final product they released is 5.8G.

You can follow the whole conversation here - [New device support]: TuYa 24GHz Human Presence Sensor TS0225_TZE200_2aaelwxk · Issue #18612 · Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt (github.com)

They are now asking all the AliExpress sellers to change the information and most of them have removed the fake information that is 24G since is not correct. They suggested to return the product and ask for refund if you are been let to believe that is 24G.

Any news on this Moes one? Real 24G?

Apparently it is, as it is rebranded Linptech Zigbee version. However, it is not working yet neither with ZHA nor Zigbee2MQTT. There are people working on it to make it compatable with Z2M. Follow this link for more info:

[New device support]: Linptech Presence Sensor ES1 (TS0225__TZ3218_awarhusb) · Issue #18637 · Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt (github.com)

I should have mine withing 1-2 days and can report more then.

@alexvaltchev was able to add the MOES TS0225 on home assistant via HAZ:

Mine is model ES1ZZ (TS0225):

But the only sensor I can see is laszone:

It turns on and off when it detects motion but I want to have the distance measurements too :frowning:

Anyone can guide me to do it? I can try to see the code but Im totally lost

Hi ! I’ve received my unit too, looking forward to get te distance and other configurable option too.

It is not supposed by ZHA. It is already supported by Zigbee2MQTT by default.

Hi dude,

I will buy the Linptech ES1, so the same than yours, and to connect it to Zigbee2MQTT, you just need to paired it like other zigbee product or need coding ?

Thanks

Yes, it is supported by default. Just pair it. No need for anything extra.

Thanks, just waiting tomorrow to buy one on AliExpress

This sensor is too sensitive. I would not recommend. If possible, buy this sensor instead: Zigbee Presence Sensor With Relay MTG075-ZB-RL - SmartHomeScene It is the best I have tested!
