Monitor Raspotify (running on another device) from Home Assistant

Is there a way to monitor Raspotify (librespot), that’s running on another device, from Home Assistant? I have Raspotify installed on another RPi (that has a high quality DAC on it) and I use it to connect to from Spotify across my/my friend’s devices using Spotify Connect. Using the built in Spotify Connect integration isn’t an option because it uses local outputs on the device HA is installed on.

I’d love to be able to see the status (song, artist, album art, volume, etc) of Raspotify in a card on my HA dashboard. Bonus points if I can use the play/pause/next/previous buttons as well. Is this possible?

You should be able to use the Spotify integration for Home Assistant.

If I recall correctly, you do need a premium account for Raspotify, not sure about the HA integration tho.

Since Raspotify acts as a Spotify connect device, simply having access to your playback status via the Spotify API is enough for HA to display all the information you mentioned.
