Monitor Virgin Hub 4 Modem connection status?

I’ve Virgin 1Gbps broadband and run their Hub4 in modem mode.

Recently, I’ve had a few connectivity issues, so I’d really like to be able to monitor their modem to see if it is having connectivity issues.

I know I can just do something like ping Google, etc. but that doesn’t really tell me if the problem is with the cable modem getting a signal.

I can login to the Hub4 modem at and view the status there, so I was wondering if anyone has found a clever way to pull that into HA?
