Monitoring and tracking low battery levels

As I keep adding more Z-Wave and Zigbee devices, it’s becoming more important I track and get notified when batteries are low. I set up a helper group for battery sensors and added all my device batteries. I then set up an automation that notifies me if the entity value drops below 25 for this sensor group. Not sure if I should toggle on or off the groups ignore numeric value setting.
Not sure if this is going to work as I envision, anyone else have thoughts or different solution?

First of all I would recommend to check out the custom component Battery Notes

And about notification: There are plenty of Blueprints

I use the auto entities card from HACS and have a card on my dashboard that lists any batteries that are under 40% charge.

The nice side effect of that is it occasionally reminds me when other devices need charging like my tablet or phone. I also have it show battery states that are unavailable which helps me notice if a Zigbee device drops off my network.

Interesting, how did I miss this, going to check it out now!
