Monoprice Amp Integration Seems to be Broken

I’m finally getting around to actually installing this Monoprice Amp and I’m running into problems.

It seems that the integration isn’t working anymore, which, if it’s true, means I’ve wasted a ton of cash.

I’m using the USR-TCP232-306 Ethernet to RS-232 module and it was working the last time I tested it with the amp.

In the module when I set the port numbers under the serial tab, I have 8235 as the local port and 8234 as the remote port.

Upon attempting to integrate into HA, using socket://<host>:<port> I get a failed connection.

If I run nmap on the device, I see only two open ports (80 and 1501). If I attempt to configure with either of these ports, it configures, creates all 18 devices and entities, but then each entity has Unknown for controls, which wasn’t the case before.

I don’t know what has changed. I have no clue what to do now.

Problem solved. It is not a broken integration. It’s a broken brain.

Hi Jon,

I have the same problem and I’m banging my head against the desk trying to figure out what it is. How did you solve it?

“Set the Work Mode to TCP Server. That was the magic sauce that I was missing and didn’t realize I had done before.”

I republished my original setup article with this as my fix. I hope it’s the same problem you’re having so you can solve it.

Another note. If you don’t assign names to the input sources during config, those sources will not be available in the media_player card on your front end UI.

The article you have regarding the USR-TCP232-306 link is broken. Could you send me a copy of your fix. I just purchased USR-TCP232-306 and am looking to hook it up to my Monoprice Home Audio System.
Thank you!

I fixed the link.
