TBH: I didn’t like the preview how HA should look like in the future (the demo that was showed at some point in the past) - but right now, I really like the effort put into the TileCards and also into the “Thermostat” Card.
Another option I could imagine - and which goes into the same direction as the Thermostat card - would be a “Component” Card.
Means, depending of the component (Thermostat, Switch, Button) it would show the same design as in the “More Info” Card.
BUT:
The main reason for this post are cards, that really need some love - like the plant card (there are several custom cards available) - but It would be great to have them in a similar look and feel and that they would fit the new design approaches…
In addition to that - I think it would make sense to provide some other cards, that would fit to integrations providing “multiple” sensors…
For example, a “Body Scale” / “Health” Card - for integrations like Withings, Xiaomi Body Scales and other integrations that would support body / health related information.
This feature request would also be a call for people who have more knowledge in creating cards… and could imagine to build something like this …
Yes, I can do that…
But I would consider, that the team should go through their own cards and have a look, what cards could get some makeover to fit into the new design language
my personal goal is, to slowly remove ‘custom’ cards whenever it’s possible…
yes, usually I would do so
Here - tbh: the intention was just to show that there are many other cards that would require some make over to fit into the new design language of homeassistant.
It’s just a collection of some ideas, rather than a very specific whish - and these are no “must haves” in the end.
Therefore, I didn’t want to open 4 feature requests - and just add the “main” request here … for now
As you point out in the OP, not everyone likes the direction the design is going already. I wouldn’t encourage more effort be diverted from the many worthy FR’s already on the table, to deal with UI tweaks.
Disclaimer: I’m a function over form guy. Sure, pretty designs are great, and keep designers employed. But when I look at all the ideas about where HA can be improved or fixed, making things more stylish falls pretty low on my priority list.
