MotionEye - unable to open video device

Hello guys, i’ve read the posts and i could not find the answer.
I have configured MotionEye over HAOS.
when i tried to add my first camera i could add it but on both ways ( TCP and UDP ) i receive the same message, a grey camera with the message " unable to open video Device ".

Thanks for help !

If you want an answer or even some help you are going to have to supply some info.

Hello Arh, thanks for yyour message.
The thing is that i don’t know what to do with that.

I’ve configured first the camera with TCP option and then with UDP option. In both of them i could not see the transmission on MotionEye or Home Assitance.

I could see the transmission on the camera app ( SONOFF )

You still need to supply information.

Camera model.
Hadware you are running HA on.
Any yaml setup you have done.
The url feed you are trying.

To list just a few things, if you didn’t read the link I pointed you to read it now.

If you don’t supply the info, the only answer you will get if any is you set it up wrong.

Hello again, Thanks Arh

I’m running Home Assitance OS Version 2025.4.4 over a notebook HP with Core i7 and 32gb Ram, 1tb SSD.

I’ve installed MotionEye over HACS.

The camera i want to integrate is the Sonoff Slim Gen 2 ( CAM Slim Gen2 Smart Home Security Camera | CAM-S2 - SONOFF Official)

That’s the print of the motionEye configuration on the Camera

About the configuration.yml i have nothing:

configuracion of the streaming part:

and when i tryed to see the streaming url:
http://homeassistant.local:9081 the result is the same as i see on motionEye. a grey screen

And the most important bit of the camera setup, the steaming url you have still not let us know what you have tried, whether you have tried anything else, whether you can see the stream in VLC or similar. Your settings in motioneye look correct, but without the url we will never know for sure.

have a look at this

Hi Arh !
Yes, i’ve seen that video. Thanks !

When i went to home assitant and put the full link that sonoff give me like on the example: rstp://rtsp:12345678… it didn’t recognize the camera.
So i realice that the first part ( rstp) is the user and the numbers are the password. When i remove it from the full link it recognice the camera and show me if i want to add it as UDP or TCP, but with both of them i could not see the transmission.

And still you don’t supply the url. It’s not going to get fixed without it. What you have said in the last post about the url is very wrong. You have rstp twice for a start. If you post the url you are trying to use I will try to help, but until you do you are on your own. We try help but without the info asked for we are not going to be able to.

Hi ! i understand your point.
The url that sonoff give me for that camera is: rtsp://rtsp:[email protected]:554/av_stream/ch0

When i go to VLC and try to open it i could:
