Mounting Tablet and Elextrical

Good afternoon everyone,

Does anyone know what I need to mount my tablet and wire it in to constant electric.

I have a Amazon Fire 7" and I have a live, neutral and Earth wire at standard UK 240v. I am replacing my light switch with a minted tablet so there is a back box in the wall.

I have an electrician, I just need to find the right hardware for him to fit.

I really would like a tablet just hovering on the wall with no cables on display at all all fully powered and just haven’t found a way of doing it.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Max

Here in Australia you can buy this type of USB charger that you would normally put behind and integrate into a power point. Maybe you can find something similar in the UK?

I’m guessing the simplest route would be to get a USB wall socket. I’m not in the UK but it looks like a variety are available: USB Wall Sockets and Modules at UK Electrical Supplies It will be ideal if you can get the electrician to install it recessed a bit for cable space.

There are wall-mount cases available for Fire tablets that have built-in channels to hide the charge cable. Some even come with custom cables, like this one (not an endorsement; I haven’t used it): Tablet Wall Mount for Amazon Fire | Makes by Mike

I soldered wires to the input and output, then used terminal connectors to connect to the 240v AC in , and to the + - 5v out to the usb lead that goes to your tablet.

These connectors can be handy for keeping the cables hidden
