I have supervised installation running on linux, bit outdated version: Core 2024.3.0,
Frontend 20240306
I’m about to get this replaced by HA OS installation.
Would restore backup from old supervised version into latest HAOS work?
If not, whats better way to get this done:
update supervised to latest → backup → insatll latest HA OS → restore. (i want to avoid this, as i’d need go update python manually)
install oler version HA OS → restore backup → update HA OS to latest
in second option, how can i determine correct HA OS version? the numbers dont match and i can’t find any version number that could be match. Should i just grab HA OS dated around 24/03?
Yes, it works perfectly. You may have to adjust some USB serial identification settings if you use dongles of any sort (e.g. zigbee). Also if you use the System Monitor integration the adaptor name of your network card may have changed and you may have to adjust this integration.
EDIT: oh I missed the “old” bit. It will restore whatever version you have now. So just load up the latest version on the new system with temporary account credentials and overwrite it with your restore. Then you can update it. After updating the new system you may have to deal with some breaking changes from each of the updates you skipped.
