Move raspberry Pi with HA to new place in my home

Hello!

I’m new to the HA and raspberry pi and did all the setup work with the raspberry pi plugged in near my computer and got everything to run smoothly. Now I would rather have the raspberry pi placed somewhere else in my apartment and I’m wondering what I should have in mind while doing that?

Should I somehow turn off everything in HA and then remove the power cord? And then when I plug it in again will it all work again like it does now? Do I have to boot it again maybe?

Another thing I’m thinking about is about the IP adress. I have configured everything with an ethernet cable plugged in but now I will have to use another cable connected to another port in my router when I move the Pi. Will that be a problem?

Maybe this isn’t an issue at all but I don’t want to mess up everything I did so far…

Thanks in advance

If you’re using a wired network and DHCP for your address. As long as the wired network you plug into is the SAME wired network it will come up as easily as if you’d just powered it off.

Now where you need to pay attention… If your using ZWave or Zigbee. If you are - you may have work to do to repair your meshes after the move.
