Move to standalone zigbee2mqtt

need to move form HA yellow (where I used zigbee2mqtt built in) to standalone zigbee2mqtt

I ordered a new USB Stick (will take time to arrive)

till then,

how can I connect the zigbee2mqtt standalon with zigbee2mqtt adone? or in another words can I let zigbee2mqtt standalone use the HA yellow Zigbee board?

If you are running HA OS on the Yellow, I don’t think so. You would need a ser2net server for HA OS.

I am not known to yellow but zigbee stand-alone means you will install docker with a container on yellow, i.e. next to the HA instance? If you have it run on anohter machine (with dongle) then the only thing z2m needs to know is how to connect to the MQTT on your HAOS/yellow

Im running z2m now on proxmox…and have another one built inside HA as addon

now I need to migrate

can Z2mqt (standalone) communicate with z2mqt on HA so that we can use the Zigbee chip

I’m getting confused.
If running on proxmox, all you need to do is passthrough the dongle to the other Zigbee2MQTT.

Zigbee2MQTT can’t communicate with another Zigbee2MQTT. Zigbee2MQTT only communicates with a MQTT-broker. Both can talk to the same MQTT-broker, provided you have 2 dongles.

Can you even run proxmox on the yellow ?

Maybe explain exactly what you want to do.

so do I have to use MQTT core or can I use standalone MQTT

Choose, one of the two, both can work. As long as HA can talk to the broker.
