Moving components/groups from default view to other views

Is it possible for groups assigned to a view to not show up in the default view? I’ve created separate views for infrequently accessed items that I don’t want to see on the default view. Unfortunately, they still show up there. I’ve tried different combinations of hiding entities and groups, but that hides them across all views.

The only way I’ve found to do this is to specifically define what I want on the default view, but this is a bad solution for me because I like all new things to show up on the default view. It’s also helpful to ensure I haven’t forgotten or lost any devices. Plus, I don’t want to have to edit my default view every time I get a new device.

have you setup a group as “default view”? That will take over the original default view and you will only have things show that you add.

Can’t find where it is documented. Just be aware that everything in your current default view will go away and if you add a new component it won’t show until you add it to a group.

I haven’t set up a default view because then I have to manually define everything that shows up there. It’s cumbersome since it will likely be changing often as I add new devices. Plus, it can be easy to lose a device if I forget to include it in a view. Preferably, the default view would include everything that is not already in a view and exclude things that are. Either that, or being able to set an excludes list or something.
