Moving from Docker on Unraid to Home Assistant Yellow

Hi everyone!

I’m new here but using Home Assistant for a little while now. I moved from Homey to Home Assistant because of the support and stability of Homey. I have HA installed in a docker container on my Unraid server, but I decided to move to a Home Assistant Yellow. This move is because I want to fase out my server and go for a smaller, more energy efficient solution.

What I’m wondering and what I would like to ask you. What are some golden tips you can give me when switching from Docker to Home Assistant OS on the yellow?

I now use ZHA for my Zigbee devices and local/internet connections for my other devices. No Z-Wave.

Thank you!

I’m in a similar situation but using zigbee2mqtt for my zigbee devices. I’m not sure I want to move to ZHA but it occurred to me that I can probably run Docker on the home assistant yellow and pretty much move the containers over as is (at least the docker compose files/volumes).

That of course assumes that zigbee2mqtt will play nice with the zigbee radio in the HA yellow.

I’m inclined to run docker anyway even if there’s nothing else running there other than HA.
