Hi all,
I’m a total newbie when it comes to Home Assistant but I do have experience using SmartThings for years. I’m giving Home Assistant a try because conditions in SmartThings are very basic and would like to learn and use a more powerful automation engine.
I’m a cheap guy and didn’t feel like spending money on an RP4. I’m running Home Assistant in a docker container on my QNAP NAS. I didn’t buy the USB dongles to support zwave and zigbee yet as I’m only at the experimenting stage and not fully committed to Home Assistant.
So far so good, HA did discover almost all of my wifi things. Some it seems I need to add manually and will fiddle with it later.
Is there anything I need to be aware of? For example, any limitations because I decided to use docker? Looks like I already found one, as I can’t seem to find where I can import my cert to login using https.
Any other people who migrated from SmartThings would like to let me know of any pitfalls or issues you ran into ahead of time?
Thanks!
