Moving from ZHA to Z2M - How to uninstall ZHA correctly?

Hi, I want to switch to Z2M again for various reasons, but I cant seem to find the right way of uninstalling the ZHA integration. Uninstall in the Devices and Services seems to visually remove it, but if I want to restart HA afterwards or just run a configuration check, that goes on forever. I tried rebooting the VM via Proxmox yesterday, which broke the system with HA is still starting.... and not starting a lot of addons automatically.

So after that I chose to get back to my backup from before. Now what is the correct way to get rid of ZHA and install Z2M? I would love to not have to add all the devices again, but I have little hopes on that. See that as additional wish.

I also checked the logs after pressing Check configuration but nothing showed up there what could be an obvious hint. There was one message regarding a template entity thats based off an Zigbee device, I commented that out and the message was gone. Check still running forever. Reboot not possible.

I want to do the same step, ZHA is “in my eyes” total rubbish in the moment, every 2-3 days it doesn’t work properly. In the end it destroyed my raspberrymatic installation. I don’t need any debugging or help here. And I have made every day a full system backup and try to repait it with this, it doesn’t work at all and I try all of my backups. I am totaly frustrated with HA, ok neverless :

I just want to know how to get clean back to Z2M with my devices and try start over with HA and give it another change.

Well I removed the ZHA integration, setup Z2M as usual and re-paired everything. Didnt look back anytime since

Hi Daniel,

How did you manage to uninstall ZHA in the end?

I had a working version of Z2M and decided I wanted to try ZHA and unfortunately did not reflect on that urge for to long, so I installed ZHA while keeping Z2M. Now Z2M will not start and I am begining to wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that I installed ZHA? Perhaps they are they are mutually exclusive?

EDIT: I realised that I can inactivate the ZHA integration which I did and Z2M started again. But I still want to uninstall the ZH.

Cheers

Hit delete

Hi Francis,

Thank you for your swift reply!

Earlier I wanted to remove a device from HA and reinstall it, and that got me into all sorts of trouble as I realized this was virtually not possible. Not for a Noob user like me anyway. So in my experience nothing is as easy as hitting delete in HA  Will that really work? Won’t lots os settings and things be left behind?

No, everything related to ZHA will be deleted.

That is more difficult then deleting an integration.
