Question, remark. I recognise that there are people here that dream programming, they eat MQTT, Python and other programming stuff for breakfast.
I have been using HA really since version 27.4, so long time user, but alas due to an illness I lost a lot of brain power, which makes it hard for me to follow the last updates and changes. But to draw that in a broader perspective there are so many starting persons here or people that are not that handy programming.
And one thing I loved was the auto detect option in MQTT it was so great you only had to configure the new node to say Hey I am here and auto-discovery did the rest.
So why do I have the feeling that more and more updates are centered around being able to do google, entering from Honolulu, protecting invasions, running on 1000 dollars servers, being beautifully logically programming wise for purist, but that there is less and less eye for the starters, the not so apt programmers, the people that like to run a small raspi pi ha for automating some daily things.
Removing depreciating things like GPIO on raspi, MQTT auto discovery.
Are we on a cross road will there be soon a branch of for small systems with more hobbyist options, and the server run, docker, all over the world accessible options.
I feel we are losing something.
Thank you
