MQTT | Entity is Sensor instead of writeable Value

Hi Everyone,

i am new to HA (migrated from IObroker) i need your help.
I have a gas boiler (Buderus GB162) which is connected to “EMS-ESP” (EMS-ESP Documentation - EMS-ESP) which is connected to HA via MQTT. The connection itself is working fine, no issues here.

But inside EMS-ESP some entities are changeable but in HA they are sensors only.

Example:
Configure “Vacation Days” → During this date the gas boiler don’t run its heating program

But unfortunatelyin HA this value is a sensor only

Now my question is, how can i make this entity writeable and where did the information come from if a entity is read only (sensor) or writeable?

Must it be changed in the implementation of “EMS-ESP” (which supports some kind of HA discovery via MQTT)? Is there even a entity type (date range) for that entity?

May someone can provide some background (links) how this works and what i can do to change it?

Kind Regards,

Marcel

Ok, quick solution.
In the latest version of “EMS-ESP” they made some text values writable.

“- HA discovery for writeable text entities #1337

After an update of EMS-ESP i can set the values as text.
