MQTT, Own tracks, iBeacon issue?

Hello

I have yet another strange issue with HA. I have Owntracks on both of our Android phones, using iBeacons and MQTT. All was working fairly well until recently where I am getting some strange behaviour with them reporting home etc. They are flipping between Name Name - -home and home, but strangely mine is flipping to Helen Helen but not Mark Mark… I just don’t get it. My OT User name is Mark and device id is Mark

Any ideas please?

I’m guessing you ahve waypoints posted in each owntracks? You should look at the way points on Helens phone. There may be a Helen waypoint on her phone. I had issues with waypoints when I setup owntracks. MQTT holds onto any topic forever, so this could be crap data left over from setup that happens to be slightly next to the home area. First place i would look is on her phone though because she’s the only one getting the double name.

my phone is doing it using her name, that’s what I cannot understand. I reboot the MQTT server and it goes away, for a day or so by the looks of it.

Did you add helen as a waypoint? or is she a friend in your owntracks?
