Multi-point smart lock with support for locking without lifting handle?

A good number of front doors in the UK have multi-point locks, where the handle must be lifted to engage the additional locking bars (and usually to lock the door at all - the key often won’t turn to lock the door until the bars have been engaged).

Is there a smart lock out there which can essentially lift the handle itself, meaning I can lock the door remotely without having to first lift the handle? I’ve taken a look at the Yale Conexis L1 and Ultion Nuki, but neither seem to offer this feature (even though they are technically “compatible” with multi-point locks).

Did you get anywhere with this, I have the same problem.

Have spoken to Ultion Nuki who say it wont damage the lock if it try’s to turn without lifting the handle. But it can lock the door.

Re Dave

I sadly haven’t found a lock which can engage the locking bars itself. The best I think you can do is just have HA alert you if locking failed (because the bars are not engaged).

What lock did you go for?

I still haven’t decided on one. Ideally it would be Zigbee compatible and not require an app or account to set up, but I’m struggling to find one that I like. I’m learning towards the Yale Conexis as long as I can get a hold of one of the Zigbee modules (seem to be quite rare).

Ultion Bolt - Ultion Lock looks interesting, seems like it replaces the bolts in the door and automatically deploys them as the door is closed, meaning the handle doesn’t need lifitng.

Also, blueMatic AV2-E | Winkhaus

That looks very promising! Seems like you’d need to run mains to the door and use something like a Shelly to actuate it, but it looks like a great option otherwise.

Interestingly it seems like it doesn’t actually interact with the lock cylinder itself, and instead just prevents the multi-point lock from disengaging? I’m somewhat curious how this bit works (from the brochure):

The locked door can be opened from the inside as usual with the door handle

As the diagram doesn’t show any connection to the door handle itself:

So I’m not sure how it can tell you’re actuating the inside handle.

After doing a bit more reading. It seems like the blueMatic (motor) feature is only really useful if you have the autoLock set to auto-locking on door close, which is a bit of a shame. I guess just a combination of the autoLock (which is just like the Ultion Bolt) and a normal motorized door lock is the best option.
