The Everspring ST814 Temperature and Humidity sensor has worked well overall for me, but recently has stopped updating. I’ve now removed and re-added the devices, but I’ve been unable to get rid of duplicate entities on one of the nodes.
I now have two temperature and two humidity readings from the node, and the only difference I can tell is that the “instance” value is either 1 or 2.
I haven’t found much documentation or posts about this, so does anyone know what’s going on? Why am I seeing two entities for the same sensor? And what’s the best way to deal with it?
Clearly removing and re-adding didn’t fix the issue, so I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong with this device.
It might be the case that the config for the node before you excluded it is still present in your zwc config file found in the same directory as your configuration.yaml. You will need to stop HA, edit the zwc config file and remove the config which has the old node id then restart. This should hopefully get rid of the duplicates.
I found the second instances mentioned in the zwcfg so removed them after stopping HA. After reboot, they were gone with no issue. However, after those battery operated devices refreshed, one came back (only humidity sensor). So there’s now a humdity sensor on “instance 1” and another on “instance 2.”
I really don’t understand why it’s reporting two different humidity sensors from this device with different values. Just makes me not trust the readings…
And then after a few days, it appears the sensors go completely offline. The Zwave node is still visible, but the system is now unable to find any of the sensors.
