Multiple Motion Sensor

so i have 2 phillips Hue Motions sensors, one at the top of the stairs and one at the bottom. the idea is that walk up the stairs and light turns on. the second sensor will see you and then the first will have no motion but the light will stay on untill both sensors has no motion. i have tried to make it so they dont see the animals walking up and down the stairs as this happens all day and night. can anyone give any ideas?

to solve the first problem, try creating a sensor group. go to helpers, choose group…

this will create a new sensor you can use that will turn off only when both are off.

as for how to distinguish people from your dogs, that will depend on your sensors’ capabilities.

RE animals: what I did for the dogs in the house is to cover the bottom half of the sensor with aluminum foil but I don’t have stairs and the sensors are placed at the height of light switches.
That way the sensors don’t pick up any motion from them.

If you cannot change the settings so the animals are not detected, you could use a helper that is activated when everyone is asleep so the lights don’t turn on.
This can work - or not - depending on your situation.
That’s the way I do it to turn on the lights dimmed during the night if there is movement.

yeah, that’s what i did tbh. with some sticky tape
