I have a question about how people are doing this. I came from SmartThings about a year ago and loved the WebCore feature, which allowed me to run pistons and trigger more complex automations.
I used to use this as the core of all my automations: Setting modes based on time of day and presence - Example Pistons - webCoRE Community Forum
I’m wondering how people who came from a similar background are translating this logic to their current platform. I’m planning to use this for everything, from lights automation to room-based operations.
One of the biggest things I miss is the ability to do everything in one automation. Currently, for things like light-based motion/contact sensors/timers, I end up having to use two automations per room. I’m willing to accept that this is a lack of knowledge on my part rather than a limitation of the platform, but I just haven’t figured it out yet.
