Multiple users on a single Android tablet

I have a Samsung tablet (SM-T510) running Android with 4 Android users on it, one for each member of my family.

I implemented a “find my device” script with notifications to help make the tablet make noise when it was misplaced, but it failed. Once we finally found the tablet, I realized it only does Home Assistant notifications if the user the tablet is set to has the Home Assistant app installed (obvious, I know…).

I installed the Home Assistant app for the other 3 user accounts on the tablet and created dashboards for each user to their needs. I tested notifications, and now my “find my device” script works fine no matter which user is signed in to the tablet.

However, now I noticed I have 4 copies of each entity via the Mobile App integration. What’s the best way to remove these extra entities while still preserving the notifications for each user? Can I go in and disable or delete the extra device instances in the integration and still have the notifications work? Or do I have to disable all the entities for the duplicate devices? I know I could experiment and iterate on this myself. But I’m hoping someone’s already run into this problem and I can benefit from your experience.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I should do a test disable of one of them and see if the notifications still work and proceed from there.

I does not and if it does, then it will be with old values, because with disable it do not update anymore.
