I have been trying to find a way to monitor the lock state of a UPVC multipoint door lock, I have seen a lot of interesting suggestions for sensors for doors with a bolt that extends when you turn the key, that utilise a ZigBee door sensor and contacts - this is really clever and I wish it would work in my scenario.
I could use a magnet and reed switch on on of the locking hooks, but these are deployed by lifting the handle and would then show ‘locked’ without turning the key.
I don’t want to install ‘smart’ locks for a couple of reasons, mostly ‘WAF’, but also concerned about them dropping offline/security etc.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or had got something working themselves for a way to monitor a multipoint door lock to see if it is locked or unlocked.
