Multiroom Audio with Apple Music und Voice commands

Hi there,

at the moment I use Amazon Echos with Apple Music Integration to Play Music in the bathingroom for example. They are cheap but are not ideal.

But I also prepared cables for audio speakers in the ceiling of every room.
They all end in the near of my 19“ rack.

So it would

  1. be perfect, to have some Central amplifier Next to the 19“ rack, where speakers in the rooms (E.g. bathroom) are connected to.
  2. This amp needs to be connected to some player, which supports Apple Music.
  3. In addition, it is necessary to have a voice control device in the room, with which it is possible to control home assistant but also the Music streaming player. Siri on the phone is possible, but it is not always clear, that the phone is in the same room - so this would not be a perfect solution.

Does anyone realised sth like this as DIY?
What Hardware and software is recommended?

Have a look at a XAP800 is all I could say and take your time to really look (as in read) the manual.
I am really biased about this advice because I got a similar setup running here for more then 8 years like this
