Music Assistant 2.0: Your Music, Your Players

Sorry I didn’t look closely enough before. This is exactly how it should be. So if things aren’t working then look at the logs and make sure you have tagged comprehensively as per the docs.

Edit: I saw your post on GH as well. Open a discussion about the playlist problem and we can sort it out there.

Hi, is there a way to setup a windows music client that plays the music (stored on windows) that can be controlled by MA through HA? HA is run on a separate machine (not on windows). I haven’t found any good open source players that does this…

You could setup the local file system provider to access the shared music on the Windows machine. If you keep turning it off this might mess you up as MA might keep removing tracks if it finds the share unavailable?

As for playback you can run the squeezelite binary Slimproto based players (aka squeezebox) · music-assistant · Discussion #1123 · GitHub

I want to keep the music local to the windows machine, only want to control the music and see the playlist. Might try squeezebox. I currently run AIMP on my windows PC and setup the AIMP control plugin with AIMP integration with HA, but soon HA will deprecate the integration… :frowning:

2.4 keeps getting bigger! Release 2.4.0 BETA 14 · music-assistant/server · GitHub

This includes the top voted for feature. SPOTIFY CONNECT. It is in early beta form but give it a try.
AUDIBLE has been added to increase the supported audiobook options
We are hopeful that an update to ffmpeg will resolve some rare but annoying playback stoppages.
Then a stack more minor features and bugfixes.

Hi,

I’m having trouble getting Music Assistant to cooperate with my Sonos Port’s Line-in input. Does anyone have a way to change to that source via Music Assistant?

I’m unable to add Spotify, any advice? Gives me authentication error

Make sure you are doing everything described in the docs. If you still have problems ask in Discord or in a discussion on GH

How does one add all Tracks to the queue?

CTRL-A should work

What about on a tablet?

Good morning,
is there a way to also have the Album Artist available when browsing the Media in HA on a media_player created by MA?

@nickrout not easy to do at the moment.

@SteveG82 The HA media browser is very limited

CTRL-A only adds 50 tracks for some reason?

Thanks a lot for the reply…
Was just wondering since the Media Browser for the player created by Music Assistant in Home Assistant was already different to the one which got created when adding it directly in Home Assistant.

It is because the results are paged. Try scrolling to the bottom and then use CTRL-A

@SteveG82 that is correct. You have to view the MA media player

Thanks Oz. That takes a bit of time to scroll down with a large library, but I do like that you have the “500 Random tracks (from library)” option that I just discovered and actually seems to work very well. I am moving over from the Sonos (v1) app to your Music Assistant so it is going to take some time to adjust. I see that you add-on does see my Plex play lists but not Sonos playlist, which is probably not possible to see or import due to proprietary rules of Sonos?

Sonos is not a music provider so you won’t see anything that is solely in that app

Thats clear to me was just wondering if it would be possible to get a Album Artists option on the MA media player like the other additional options Artists,Albums,Tracks,Playlists,Radio Stations (compared to the HA media player).

As I said the HA media view is limited. That is controlled by HA not MA
