Are there limits to the Plex Media Server integration and synchronisation?
I’m finding that it won’t scan more than 99,520 tracks despite running the synchronisation multiple times. I have 107,389 tracks in the one library within Plex Media Server.
It’s also reporting fewer albums than I have (short a few hundred), and more artists than I have (Plex says 2,950 but Music Assistant says 9,005 which is a significant difference)
The collection is entirely FLAC, and it’s plausible to me that perhaps Music Assistant isn’t synchronising the higher bit rate FLACs (though, why?) as that’s roughly the difference in tracks… but I don’t understand the significant difference in artists, unless artists come from tracks rather than albums as then “artist feat artist” would be another artist and could explain that. It’s also plausible that tracks counts only “distinct tracks”, i.e. counting several copies of Bohemian Rhapsody as 1 track… but yet I can see duplicates listed distinctly so I assume that’s not the case.
Any guesses as to what’s happening?
And as it never seems to finish this sync, it never seems to start the RadioBrowser sync.

thanks, i have been through this but I’m still struggling. the music gets added to music assistant fine, but MA thinks each track is a single. when i come to add the track to a playlist, it fails because MA thinks the track is located at Artists/Album/Track, but they are actually located at AlbumArtist/Album/Track. i cannot see any way to work around this?
Correct. If you just follow the guidelines you won’t have any problems

hopefully someone develops a music source for emby or extends the jellyfin source to work for emby at some point and i can use that rather than the filesystem.

Sorry I didn’t look closely enough before. This is exactly how it should be. So if things aren’t working then look at the logs and make sure you have tagged comprehensively as per the docs.
Edit: I saw your post on GH as well. Open a discussion about the playlist problem and we can sort it out there.
Hi, is there a way to setup a windows music client that plays the music (stored on windows) that can be controlled by MA through HA? HA is run on a separate machine (not on windows). I haven’t found any good open source players that does this…
You could setup the local file system provider to access the shared music on the Windows machine. If you keep turning it off this might mess you up as MA might keep removing tracks if it finds the share unavailable?

I want to keep the music local to the windows machine, only want to control the music and see the playlist. Might try squeezebox. I currently run AIMP on my windows PC and setup the AIMP control plugin with AIMP integration with HA, but soon HA will deprecate the integration…

I’m having trouble getting Music Assistant to cooperate with my Sonos Port’s Line-in input. Does anyone have a way to change to that source via Music Assistant?
I’m unable to add Spotify, any advice? Gives me authentication error
Make sure you are doing everything described in the docs. If you still have problems ask in Discord or in a discussion on GH
