I am trying to listen the playing of my media from one place.
I currently use Jellyfin server as my media server. I currently listen /view all my media via Jellyfin client. All works well.
I used home assistant to manage my whole house and again all works well.
My objective would be to have music activated depending on certain events (wake up, arriving home or time of day).
I have 2 HTPCS and several computers connected throughout the house. all htpcs are connected to decent Amplifiers who in turn are connected to decent speakers (better than sonos)
all pcs are connected either to echo, to bose speakers or to generic good quality pc speakers via direct connection or through high end sound card
I see music Assistant as a possible option however i do not see a simple or possible way to have music assistant play via the PCs default player environment
Is this possible?
if not could this be a planned improvement to music assistant
I thank you in advance for you help
Define the htpc ‘default player environment.’ If you mean let MA act as a jellyfin server for your jellyfin client player there probably not. But can yih make the htpc an airplay, or DLNA target (probably yes) and MA can be a client of your jellyfin server…
Im just trying to figure out what you get through MA that you don’t already have? Isn’t there already a jellyfin integration (truly don’t know not a jellyfin user) not knocking the idea… Just wondering
I managed to play my music through installed on pcs, htpcs phone and car radio to the local speakers via local amplifiers connected to nthos devices … Brilliant
However I do not see any entities in HA that i can use in an automation to cause music to play in a specific device.
I added MA to HA via an addon and i did not select the beta version. and i added snapcast to Home assistant
Did i install and configured this incorrectly?
Without the ability to have music assistant cause music to play at a certain PC at a certain time via an automation, music assistant integration to home assistant ads no value to my environment.
