Music sources (Inputs) -> Music players (Outputs)

Hi there,

I am just a few weeks in HA and all my automatics are working fine.
For a few days, I am searching for a solution to make my music smart.

All my Inputs (Spotify, Webradio, Music from local folders) are working.
All my output players (Sonos, Chromecasts, Google Home, MusicCast and Yamaha amplifiers) are working as well.

But it doesn’t work together.
That means, that I cannot select an input and assign an output, because I dont know the way to do that. I am searching for one/serveral add-ons/integration, that can do that.

Currently, I can open spotify, select an artist/album/playlist and play it on a yamaha amplifier.
For Sonos, it works different.
When I want to listen to webradio, I have to take another different way.

My ideal idea would be a card with three input selectors on top and all the devices under it.
In the inputs (blue in the picture), I would like to browse the media of the corresponding service.
In the outputs (white in the picture), I want to control (on/off, mute, louder, less louder) the output devices. For sure, each output shall only be assigned to one Input.
At this example, this means, that Sonos Kitchen is deactiated for Sonos, when I activate Sonos Kitchen for Webradio (or for Local Music).

I was looking for soething similar and wasn’t able to find it until now.
Currently all my devices are based on LinkPlay and I would like to have one card per output device (zone).
My preferred sources would be:

  • Files (NAS)
  • Webradio (predefined streams and ideally something like TuneIn to choose radio station)
  • Spotify
  • Amazon music
  • Inputs specific to a device (bluetooth, HDMI, spdif etc.)

In an ideal scenario I would have one card / output device (zone) and be able to select the source in there. This is already possible with the Media Control Card but at least in LinkPlay (custom integration) I was not able to display all the sources I wanted.
For example I was not able to add a source, which allows me to display the media browser for a NAS.
Also spotify seems to be a own media_player and therefore needs to have it’s own Media Control Card. But as much as I understand this is cause of the design of the spotify API…
