I had 10kW of Solar on a SolarEdge inverter, and the Emporia Vue 2 did a great job of measuring everything.
I just added a Powerwall 3 and another 5kW of solar, and now I have a problem. There are two solar sources instead of just one, and the PW is bidirectional. To further complicate things, the sources are combined in a separate panel that doesn’t have a direct physical connection to my main panel.
I thought about adding a second Vue in the combiner panel, or extending the cables of two of the 50A sensors, but I don’t know if the Vue app is designed for that kind of complexity. I think nesting is the only tool to tell the app what goes where. Does anyone have experience with this?
One alternative is to replace the Emporia Vue with a Refoss unit. That would allow me to create derived sensors in HA and perform whatever math is required. Does anyone have experience with this?
Any other suggestions are welcome.
Ironically, the Powerwall already collects all the data I need, but I don’t think there is a way to make it available for HA to use.
In case you were wondering, the Emporia Vue is in the square box to the right. The combiner box is on the outside wall, that photo was taken while the electrician was hooking up the Tesla remote meter.
