Hey, I got some Nanoleaf Matter essential lightstrips and bulbs, they are working fine so far. Now I wanted to write an automation which, after a certain action, sets the bulbs/lightstrips to a specific scene (effect like blaze, etc) like you can choose in the Nanoleaf app itself.
Not sure if that’s actually working for the essential product line
Look at your light in the more info page (when you click on it in the UI), it should have an effect dropdown. If it doesn’t, your light doesn’t support that feature.
Well, the device does support scenes (effects in HA) natively, but for some reason it is not exposed via Matter. Is that a Home Assistant shortcoming, something that Nanoleaf has to fix on their side or a Matter standards issue?
I have actually the same question but also one which is one step behind. Did you connected your bulbs/lightstrip directly via matter without using the Nanoleaf app? I have matter and non-matter devices from Nanoleaf and experience quite some issues when I want to update them, download new scenes etc… So far it only worked if I connected a device via Apple HomeKit and added it to Nanoleaf-App. Unfortunatelyte it is then not detectable via HomeAssistant (if not a matter device). Once I remove the device from Apple HomeKit and add it to HomeAssistant the Nanoleaf-App is not able to upload new scenes or updates.
