Native internet browser for Hass.io

I’m using the Silk browser on an Amazon table to access my HA frontend over wifi. If my wireless network is interrupted, I cannot access HA using a browser. I know that I can connect to HA using SSH but, I’d like to start a browser session on the local HA server, in case of an emergency.

I have a Pi 3B with Hass.io supervisor v 138 installed. I also have a keyboard, mouse, and monitor attached to the Pi. Is a default browser like Midori pre-installed on the hass.io image. How do I access it from CLI? Is there an browser add-on available?

no, not applicable, not as far as I know.

I would agree with @nickrout

Hassio is an appliance, intended to run headless. Running a GUI on there would be a massive drain on the limited resources the Pi has.

If you really want a fix browser attached, maybe look at getting a second Pi ( even a cheap zero would probably work) and attach them together with standoffs, use wired network for them and run the Pi Foundations Pixel desktop on that and leave the Hassio Pi to do its thing as designed.

The 2nd Pi is a great solution. It’s cheap, dedicated and satisfied my emergency use-case. Thanks!
